Our commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion
and Belonging (DEIB)

Aligned with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)
Kids Academy International School is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and equitable environment where every child feels valued, respected and empowered to thrive. We recognise that belonging is essential to wellbeing, learning and personal development.

This commitment is grounded in the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and is reflected in our policies, practices and daily school life.

Non-Discrimination
Article 2  All children have the right to protection from discrimination.
At Kids Academy, we ensure that no child is disadvantaged because of race, nationality, language, gender, religion, ability, background or family circumstance. We actively remove barriers to participation and learning.

Best Interests of the Child
Article 3  The best interests of the child must be a primary consideration in all actions concerning children.
All school policies, admissions decisions, safeguarding measures and curriculum planning are guided by what is in the best interests of the child.

Right to Be Heard
Article 12 - Children have the right to express their views and have them taken seriously.
We encourage student voice through class discussions, leadership roles, wellbeing surveys, house systems and daily reflection opportunities. Students are supported to develop agency, confidence and leadership skills.

Respect for Identity
Article 8 - Children have the right to preserve their identity.
We celebrate cultural heritage, language and family identity within our curriculum, assemblies, events and classroom practice. Our international setting in Thailand allows us to honour both local and global perspectives.

Right to Education
Article 28 - Every child has the right to education.
We provide high-quality teaching and differentiated support to ensure equitable access to learning for all students.

Aims of Education
Article 29  -Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the fullest.
Our approach nurtures academic achievement, wellbeing, character development, global citizenship and compassion.

Protection and Safety
Article 19 - Children have the right to be protected from harm.
Our safeguarding policies, wellbeing systems, SEN support, and positive behaviour frameworks ensure students feel safe, secure and supported.

Governance and Accountability
The Board directs the Head of School to:

  • Maintain and review policies that promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging

  • Remove barriers to opportunity

  • Establish measurable annual objectives

  • Provide a minimum annual report on implementation and progress

This ensures our commitment is not aspirational, but actively embedded and evaluated.
